Culture in Begur

Castle of Begur
Description: The Castell de Begur, located at the highest point of the town, offers spectacular views of the Costa Brava. It was built in the 16th century to defend the coast from pirate attacks. Although the fortress is in ruins, its location and the panoramic view it offers are worth it.

Location: In the center of Begur, accessible on foot.

Church of Sant Pere de Begur
Description: This baroque church, built in the 18th century, is one of the most important in the town. It is located in the main square and can be visited to admire its architecture and interior beauty.

The Town and the Old Town
Description: Walking through the old town of Begur is a unique experience. Its stone houses, narrow alleys and charming squares make you feel transported back in time. The buildings, from different periods and styles, reflect the growth of the town over the centuries.

Activity: We recommend walking through the streets of the town, stopping at the small local shops and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

The Indian Houses
Description: Begur was a popular destination for the Indians (emigrants who made their fortune in Latin America). These families built large mansions known as "Indian houses". Many of these buildings can be seen in the areas near the town center.
